`Revealing Culture:HeadOn` is an artwork and research by Visual Artist Tanya Raabe exploring identity, body image and disability culture, in contemporary portraiture and the nude: Taking inspiration from the collections at Tate Liverpool and Tate Modern, she will create ten new portraits of disabled cultural figures, past present and future. The sittings for these portraits will take place in Tate Liverpool and Tate Modern over the next 12 months and will be open to the public to watch and question both the artist and the sitter about who and why they are doing this exciting project. `The Public`s Choice` is a chance for you to nominate either a disabled sports personality, or a disabled athlete or a disabled sports person, to have their portrait painted as part of the Revealing Culture: Head On collection. The Public`s Choice portrait will take place in a public live sitting in Tate Liverpool as part of DaDa Fest International 10, November 2010.

The Foundation was established in 1977 `to advance the education of the public by the promotion of their appreciation of the fine arts and in particular the works of Henry Moore`. It concentrates its support on sculpture, and gives grant aid to other suitable organisations. Various projects are eligible.

Mencap wants organisations to make arts activities more accessible to young people with a learning disability. Every young person should have the chance to pursue a career, or even a hobby, without restrictions.
The 2010 Youth Arts Consultation, a research report produced in partnership with the Mencap arts team and the Arts Council England, found that it is much harder for young people with a learning disability to access the arts than their peers. The report makes a number of recommendations for improvements, and provides detailed information of current arts activities available to young people with a learning disability.

The course, Making Information Easy to Read and Understand training will be held on September 29 at the Sandfields Young Business Centre in Port Talbot. This course will help you understand how to make written and printed information more accessible for people with learning disabilities.
