2005: After Dark Deaf Arts Cabaret & Workshops

After Dark Deaf Arts Cabaret â WorkshopsOn Friday 14th October 2005 at Newport's new arts centre, The Riverfront, some of the world's finest Deaf performers came together to lead Masterclass Workshops and take part in a fantastically entertaining After Dark Cabaret.

We were very pleased to welcome Singapore's Ramesh Meyyappan, hailed by the Liverpool Daily Post as

"a tremendous performer, part Chaplin, part Mr Bean part Marcel Marceau. Above all, it is very funny, Meyyappan's humorous expressions a constant delight..."

Other acts included UK-based Tyron Woolfe's signed song - a spectacular interpretation of music through sign language, and John Wilson with his amazing performance poetry. The evening also showcased new talent from Wales - the dancer Barry J Roberts.

Tickets were sold out, and the feedback was fantastic.
