In 2001, Arts Disability Wales called for submissions for the cADWyn Competition from disabled visual artists and craftspeople based in Wales.
Over 125 pieces of work were considered by the competition's selection panel, out of which 12 finalists were chosen. Very difficult decisions had to be made as the standard of the submissions was extremely high.
The 12 selected pieces of work were then reproduced onto a series of postcards, and distributed through 100 venues across Wales. These postcards were available for free to the public. Many of these venues still have the postcards on display.
A touring exhibition including the original 12 selected pieces. as well as new pieces of work by a total of nineteen artists, successfully toured to Shrewsbury, Wrexham, Brecon and Pontardawe during 2002 / 2003.
Some postcards and posters are still available for free from our office please get in touch if you are interested.
